		<description>I consider my house an investment.  But I&#039;m not counting on it bailing me out in retirement.  I think that&#039;s the important point.  Too many people are relying on their homes to save them when they retire.  That&#039;s too many eggs in one basket.  

At the same time, there ARE people who&#039;ve made a killing in RE equity on their personal residence.  It wasn&#039;t the lottery.  There is real value there (for the most part).

Jesse, have you been reading too much Ben Stein?</description>

		<description>I tend to agree more with Jesse here.  I dont think its fair to say that a home isnt an investment.  The investment piece is that its not a comparison of home vs stock market, its house vs renting.  The frame of reference is completely different.</description>
