		<description>I consider my house an investment.  But I'm not counting on it bailing me out in retirement.  I think that's the important point.  Too many people are relying on their homes to save them when they retire.  That's too many eggs in one basket.  

At the same time, there ARE people who've made a killing in RE equity on their personal residence.  It wasn't the lottery.  There is real value there (for the most part).

Jesse, have you been reading too much Ben Stein?</description>

		<description>I tend to agree more with Jesse here.  I dont think its fair to say that a home isnt an investment.  The investment piece is that its not a comparison of home vs stock market, its house vs renting.  The frame of reference is completely different.</description>
