Starbucks Vs Gatorade Vs Gas: wow

The price of gas has been going crazy lately but even now gas is one of the cheaper liquids that we buy on a daily basis.  Sure we use more of it, but as a whole its still a lot cheaper in comparison.  If we were to take off the government’s piece of of the cost (up to a dollar in places) it would be even cheaper.  So I did a little research and few price comparisons to see just exactly what we pay per gallon for the rest of the things we buy in ascending order.

1 gallon of gas = $3.37

Quart of Milk 16 oz for $1.59 = $6.32 per gallon (gallons can be found for cheaper - $4ish a gallon)

Gatorade 20 oz for $1.59 = $10.17 per gallon

Snapple 16 oz for $1.29 = $10.32 per gallon

Water 9 oz for $1.49 = $21.19 per gallon

Starbucks 8 ounce coconut almond mocha for $4.43(what I used to drink) = $70.88 per gallon

Good thing our cars don’t run on starbucks, eh?

This definitely puts the price of gas in perspective.

What’s funny is comparing the price of something to Starbucks is a popular way to justify price in direct response selling.

While Starbucks actually tastes good (IMO), what I can’t believe is how much people spend on bottled water. If the water is that bad, a filter is an awful lot cheaper.

I was just talking to my wife today about the price per gallon of water vs. price per gallon of gas and wondering how they compared with gas hitting $4.00 a gallon at some stations. It looks like water is still a lot more expensive. Next time we go to Starbucks I’m going to remind my wife that her drink is 21 times more expensive than gas.

Hey chuckleheads, Gatorade doesn’t cost $10 a gallon.

You can get it in gallon containers for around $4. Using a smaller container number to boost the price is lame and incorrect.
